Tropical weather

چکیده
There are two reasons why tropical weather is different from that at higher latitudes. The sun shines more directly on the tropics than on higher latitudes (at least in the average over a year). This makes the tropics warm. And, the vertical direction (up, as one stands on the earth’s surface) is perpendicular to the earth’s axis of rotation at the equator, while the two are the same at the pole. Because of these two factors, clouds and rain storms in the tropics can occur more spontaneously compared to those at higher latitudes, where they are more often controlled by larger-scale forces in the atmosphere. Because of these differences, clouds and rain are more difficult to forecast in the tropics than at higher latitudes. On the other hand, temperature is easily forecast in the tropics, because it doesn’t change much.

Is Really Weather or Tropical Conditions Affects an Outbreak of COVID-19: A Brief Report
Corona viruses are large group of viruses that can cause sickness ranging from normal flu to severe respiratory diseases. The new novel corona virus (nCOV-19) or COVID-19 is a new kind of pandemic virus that did not identified before in humans. Global nations have heightened their surveillance in the quick diagnosis of potential cases across the COVID-19. After it had originated in China more c...
متن کاملA Method for Microclimate Observation and Thermal Analysis -Tropical Condition of Kuala Lumpur
Using outdoor public spaces as a place of social interaction is in a great consideration these days. Providing tolerable thermal condition as long as possible is one of the primary stage for people’s presence in these places. Outdoor thermal indices are introduced to help architects making appropriate decisions in climate responsive design procedure. By doing some field study research in extr...
متن کاملToward Seamless Weather-Climate Prediction with a Global Cloud Resolving Model
The long-term goal of this project is to developing a seamless weather and climate prediction system that has capability to predict accurately both weather phenomena such as tropical cyclones (TC) and other extreme weather events and longer climate-scale phenomena such as the Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO) and the El Nino-Southern Oscillation (ENSO). Organized moist convections in the tropical...
متن کاملImproving Wind and Rain Simulations for Tropical Cyclones with the Assimilation of Doppler Radar Data
More accurate prediction of the strong winds and heavy rain associated with tropical cyclones using numerical weather prediction (NWP) models would be helpful in the provision of weather services for the public. In this paper, the impact of assimilating radar data in the simulation of Typhoon Neoguri and Severe Tropical Storm Kammuri in 2008 is studied using Weather Research and Forecasting (WR...
متن کاملThe weather and climate of the tropics, Part 9 - Climate, flora and fauna
Much of this series has covered the weather types experienced in the tropics. Following on from the introduction to tropical climates in Part 1 (Galvin, 2007), this penultimate part describes the major climates and their relationship to the plants and animals of the tropics, including humankind, that have settled in all tropical environments. A map of the climatic zones of the tropics appears a...
متن کاملNear-global Impact of the Madden-julian Oscillation on Rainfall
The accuracy of synoptic-based weather forecasting deteriorates rapidly after five days and is not routinely available beyond 10 days. Conversely, climate forecasts are generally not feasible for periods of less than 3 months, resulting in a weather-climate gap. The tropical atmospheric phenomenon known as the Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO) has a return interval of 30 to 80 days that might par...
